This is a piece I completed a couple of months ago, in tribute to Walt Disney's up-and-coming animated movie 'The Princess and the Frog'. Words can not describe how enthralled/thrilled/passionate I am about this movie.

When I first got a taste of just how amazing Disney's 2D animation could be now when I watched 'Enchanted', I was praying that they'd release a full-length animated feature. I'm sure you can understand my excitement when I heard on the grapevine that they were doing just that. Not only a hand drawn animated movie, but a return to the classic fairytale? Amazing. UHmazing. Finally, a chance for a newer generation to see what they've missed.

Being a child of the 90s, I was surrounded by Disney animated movies, every day I must have made my parents put 'The Little Mermaid' in the VCR when I was a kid, visiting my cousins and watching ' Pocahontas' and 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' over and over again, I even have a very vague memory of seeing 'The Lion King' when it was first released at the cinema. Its sad that pretty much a whole generation of young kids have missed that. But, at least it's about to change.

This movie represents a lot to different people. Some see a heroine they can identify with. Some see it as another bridge that has been crossed. I, however, see it as the start of an amazingly familiar, yet new, decade of beautiful artistry, wonderful music and superb craftsmanship.

I'm 16-years-old and still live for these movies

*UPDATED 14/02/10 * Those horrid stringy vine things were really irritating me, and though these aren't much better, I think they look nicer than the others. Oh, and i change the fireflies as well.
